Who does this case affect?

All current and former non-exempt hourly employees of The Geo Group, Inc.; Geo Group California, Inc.; Geo Secure Services, LLC; Geo Corrections And Detentions, LLC; and Geo Corrections Holdings, Inc. (1) who worked in the United States of America at any time from November 1, 2017 through the time of trial in this action, and (2) who were paid overtime wages in the same pay period in which they were also paid cash-in-lieu of benefits. 

What are the allegations? 

The complaint alleges (1) failure to pay all overtime wages owed, (2) failure to pay all overtime wages owed, (3) failure to pay all Labor Code § 226.7 premiums owed, (4) failure to timely pay all wages during employment, (5) failure to timely pay all wages owed at separation of employment, (6) failure to provide accurate itemized wage statements, and (7) violation of the Unfair Competition Law.

Case Summary:

The Plaintiff alleges Geo failed to include cash-in-lieu of benefits payment in the “regular rate of pay” to lawfully calculate and pay overtime wages and meal and rest period premiums to employees under state and federal employment laws.
