Compensation and Benefits

Ferraro Vega offers competitive, market-based attorney, paralegal and staff compensation and benefits. This includes:

  • Performance-based bonuses for attorneys and paralegals
  • Paid Time Off (10 days per year, 15 day accrual cap)
  • Paid Sick Leave (40 hours annually, 80 hour cap in San Diego)
  • 401(k) with matching for paralegals and hourly staff (100% of Elective Contributions up to 3% of Compensation, plus 50% of Elective Contributions over 3%, up to 5% Compensation)

  • Hybrid after 30 days (typically 2-3 days scheduled from home plus attorneys can take additional days from home when they are in mediation or have court hearings)

Law Clerks

Ferraro Vega hires second year, third year, and post-bar law students. Applicants must have an interest in wage and hour class and collective action employment litigation. Highly motivated team players who are looking to develop substantive legal skills during school are encouraged to apply. We typically ask for an 18+ hour part time commitment during school with time off for breaks and finals, and full time during the summer. Historically, successful law clerks have worked for us over multiple semesters and summers. We train law clerks to be associates at our firm and our focus is on hiring people who want to learn real legal skills and start their legal career. We typically hire bright people from USD Law, Cal Western, and Thomas Jefferson School of Law.

Paralegals and Legal Assistants

Ferraro Vega  regularly hires litigation paralegals and legal assistants. Our paralegals have prior litigation experience, including employment litigation and/or class action experience in state and federal court. Paralegals are generally staffed on cases supporting a single associate attorney who is supervised by one or two partners. Paralegals and legal assistants prepare complaints, handle e-filing, service and calendaring, as well motion work, document management and discovery, and mediation assistance. Ferraro Vega offers a unique combination of market paralegal pay and benefits, as well as regular business hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. We do not tolerate attorneys who overwork paralegals or make the job unnecessarily difficult due to mismanagement or disorganization. Successful applicants are confident and capable operators who adopt the firm’s modern technology and management systems and who enjoy the pace of litigation and working as part of a team that supports each other.

Attorneys

Ferraro Vega hires fires year, junior, and senior litigation attorneys for various roles depending on experience, such as associate, team lead, or in of counsel positions. We look to hire attorneys with experience in state and federal courts handling wage and hour class, collective, and PAGA actions. Applicants must be team players who enjoy negotiating in good faith, presenting in court, and working efficiently with our legal assistants and paralegals. Attorneys are paid a market salary and full benefits, and over time become eligible for performance based bonuses in addition to subjective bonuses.
