Troy Q. Strange
Troy’s practice is dedicated to providing clear, effective, and principled advocacy for employees navigating the complexities of California law. Outside of the office, Troy enjoys San Diego’s coastal lifestyle with his wife, three children, and their dog. Whether he is exploring the local beaches or catching up on a good book, he values the time spent with his family and staying active in the community.
Background & Education
Troy is a local San Diegan, born and raised in North County. He graduated with an undergraduate degree from California Polytechnic State University of San Luis Obispo in 2018. He went on to attend California Western School of Law in San Diego, where he earned the distinction of being a recipient of the Gold Pro Bono Service award for outstanding service to his community at the Alternate Public Defender’s Office.
Troy’s perspective is shaped by his experience working for California’s premier employment law enforcement agency, the California Labor Commissioner’s Office, where he gained an in-depth understanding of the California Labor Code and the systemic challenges workers face. As an attorney for the Labor Commissioner’s Office, Troy advocated on behalf of workers from San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Imperial County in cases up through trial. He later transitioned to sophisticated employment defense at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch, San Diego’s largest full service law firm, where he advised California employers on essential compliance issues with California’s various employment laws and engaged in the litigation of single-plaintiff and wage and hour disputes.
Litigation Experience
Troy has litigated wage and hour cases across southern California, including in San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Imperial counties. Troy is a first chair trial attorney with experience advocating in the courtroom. He has been admitted to practice throughout the state of California and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California since 2022.

Troy is an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association.
Publications and Presentations
During his time as an attorney at the California Labor Commissioner’s Office, Troy provided training and presentations to state workers on the enforcement of California’s Labor Code. These presentations included training on how to pursue claims against joint employers in a variety of contexts and the life cycle of a wage and hour lawsuit.
